Wife Tracker

When your wife is off on her own for the day, weekend or whatever....ever wonder where she is or what she's doing?? I guess you could put a gps tracker on the car or maybe the cell phone but I have discovered a neat little way to keep tabs on the one you love when they are away from the home... Give her cart blanche on the credit card lol.

I know at first this may sound counter productive but here's how it works:

It all depends on how quickly your credit card posts the charges so when your family member (wife, husband, child) are out and about for the day all you need to do is log into your credit account to see what they are up to. Since it is better to know about those big purchases sooner rather than later this comes in handy. A by product of this is if the person is a wee bit weary of having Big Brother looking over their shoulder it may curtail the spending. lol One can only hope huh????

Bird Flu: And The Band Played On

Have you been following the bird flu? Whether it is something to be alarmed about it up to each of us to decide on our own. However, something interesting has happend over the last several days. Possible human to human contact has occured.

In Indonesia there was a family of 7 who have contracted bird flu. What is important in this cluster is that only one member of the family had contact with pouoltry. All the family members were in close proximity to the first infected family member as they were caring for that individual. It appears that this possible human to human jump was not made by casual contact. What is important to keep in mind that each time the virus infects a human is another opportunity for the virus to mutate into a form that is more easily transfered from human to human. One can go the next step and summize that with each individual human to human transfer of the virus the risks of a transfer friendly human to human mutation rise considerably.

In Romania there has been 56 new outbreaks of bird flu within the past 12 days alone with 400 people being placed under quarantine in the capital alone.

Why is this significant? Hopefully it is the Romanian authorities are being overzealous in the control. To my knowlege this is the first concentration of potential human cases in a western metropolitan city. This instance is preliminary and nothing to worry about at this time. When the flu does finally adapt to humans we won't really see it until it hit a western city.

We may hear about human to human transfer in remote villages in Indonesia, China or Vietnam or even small or medium sized cities in those areas. It wont really effect our metality until we get those reports in a western industrialized city. If you read about the spanish flu, especially the reports out of Ft Riley, Kansas towards the end of WWI you can see how fast the devestation spread. One day there were a handful of people sick and within 24-48 hrs there were hundreds. If you want something to reference in modern terms you can see the title of this post. It is an HBO documentation of the early days of the spread of AIDS....the clusters and how quickly the virus spread.

and the band played on.....

I Had A Visitor This Morning

So here it was before 8am this morning. I am listening to "The Boneyard" on XM Radio and doing the dishes. I am wondering why they play some of the songs they do in the morning...Cheap Trick, Robert Plant, etc.... certainly wouldn't fit my definition of a "hair band" or "stadium rock". Anyways I look up and realize I am being watched lol.

Happy Hump Day

Whether you like your hump wet or dry, shaken or stirred... Hump Day is for everyone!! How do you celebrate your Hump Day?

What a game last night, hockey that is. Thought I would catch a little of the Oilers-Mighty Ducks game and within the first three minutes there were eight players sitting in the penalty box for a massive fight. At the 10 min mark in the first period they said there had been 40 minutes of penalties... wow. Carolina/Buffalo is on tonight.

Zack had his first ball game last night. Since we were out of town for Saturday's game we got a call that the game was at 6 rather than 6:30.... being it was 6:05 when we got the call dinner was put away in a hurry and off we went so there were no pics. :( I will bring my camera to the next game on Thursday. Zack still gets a little bored in the field waiting for something to happen so hopefully he will enjoy soccer that much more when that starts up.

Another Gloomy Day

Lovely weather we are having here in nothern NY. It looks like we might be switching from heat to AC within this next week. Anyway it looks like a nice day to do some painting since really can't get anything done outside. I need to mow since my crop of dandelions is calling my name.

Buffalo came out to a very strong start last night. I haven't seen too much of them so wasn't sure what to expect. The Sabres came out fast and hitting hard and scored the first goal but I think that after the 1st period the game belonged to Carolina. At one point they were ahead in shots on goal 16-7. I called it a night when they were ahead 4-1. Final score was 4-3 with the series even at 1-1.

Yankees lost and are now 2.5 games behind Boston....so today is a nice day after all.

Amazing

My blog is open for all to read and to post a comment on. It is about my life, my family, our life, our adventures....and on occasion a little sarcasm, parody or even a rant or two.

It seems that there is a person who finds it necessary to read my blog and to make comments... but on her own blog site. To those who know me this person is one I had a relationship a year ago. We've both moved on or one would assume so but this person still finds the time to read my blog and make disparaging remarks about me and/or what I have posted. Whether a person reads another blog out of curiosity, interest, humor, or just plain finds it an oddity in the likes of P. T. Barnum who knows and really doesn't matter. It's there for people to read for whatever the reason.

You have to wonder the purpose of making comments, not on the original posters page but elsewhere. What is the motivation? I guess it is anyone's guess...and that too is fine. I find it humorous.

For those who know me and talk to me they know where I am in my life. You won't here me make proclimations of how happy I am. Simply making proclimations doesn't make it so. I neither need to convince anyone of my happiness nor do I need to convince myself. Those who know me and read my blog know and have commented on how proud I am of my new family.

Ultimately....for those friends past and present I wish nothing but the best but life is really what you make of it. I am not asking for the comments to stop nor do I expect them to. If this was a tit for tat then the winner is the one who can rise above it.

Almost Forgot

Yes, I almost forgot. The Mets won the "Subway Series"

and to all those Yankees fans out there Image

Hockey returns to our house tonight with Buffalo playing Carolina. Buffalo was very convincing in its win over Ottawa. Should be a very good game.

Happy Monday

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Saturday was the prom for Watertown High School so we made a day of shopping then getting to see Amanda and Ashley in their gowns for pics before they headed off for the evening.

You stop and think that my little girl 18 years old and graduating high school this year. As a parent you always have your concerns about your children. you know... are they doing well in school? Are their friends a good influence on them?? Is there something more I can or could have done?? Well, Amanda is a very nice young lady and have gotten many comments. Don't let the hair and the piercings fool ya lol. If you read this Amanda, I'm proud of you :)

We hired a contractor to replace the front porch roof. Don't ask me why we didn't have that done when the deck was replaced although I do remember the contractor thought some new flashing would take of the leak near the front door....well, it didn't so we will have it done and soffit put in the match the rear porch.

I got to make my moulding for the front door last week. Certainly I am not an expert and don't have the equipment of one but it does look nice and you have to look close to see a couple of mistakes. We decided on waiting til we were done with the kitchen to have the baseboard moulding custom made. I can't seem to get close enough to match what we already have in the house. There's something about removing the moudling and seeing square nails lol

A little travel news:

We confirmed with my brother-in-law for a visit towards the end of June to early July. He is scheduled to head back to Iraq in December so Georgia here we come. They live near Savannah so it looks like a day trip to Tybee Island is in order. From what I have read it looks to be a little bit for all of us...nature trails, 200 year old light house, sea turtles...ect.

You Ever Wonder

Have you seen those guys picking up cans along the side of the road? Have you ever wonder what they do with them?? Here's your answer.
